Discipleship and Sex Jana Pinson
Homeschoolers are given the absolute best academic advantage but are they given the best cultural advantage? Help prepare them to navigate the challenging culture that is beyond your home. Sex education or “the talk” isn’t enough in a culture that is bombarding them with sexual images, ideas and messages. Our kids are confronted with an aggressive message of how to think about marriage, sexual activity and dating. Give them an understanding and foundation for the sexual culture surrounding them.

Jana Pinson is the Executive Director of the Pregnancy Center of the Coastal Bend and a pastor’s wife. She and her husband, Grover, homeschooled their two daughters for 16 wonderful years. Teddi just graduated from Baylor with her Masters in Music and Jacci is a Junior at Baylor majoring in Business with an emphasis on Entrepreneurship.

Dual Credit 101 Robert Montez, Del Mar Community College
This workshop will provide an overview of the benefits of dual credit, admissions and testing requirements. Students and parents will also, learn what is expected of each dual credit student and how students can be successful in their college course.

Dyscalculia: Don’t Count on It Sherry Sells
Dyscalculia is a severe difficulty in making arithmetical calculations, as a result of brain disorder. Just because a child struggles in math does not mean it is Dyscalculia. This seminar will help you determine if it is Dyscalculia, math anxiety, ADHD affecting math skills, or just need extra help.
This seminar will also teach you how to help your child no matter which one of the reasons above is why your child is struggling in math. Learning why your child is struggling in math is the first step to helping your genius to come out.

Dysgraphia Help Sherry Sells
This seminar will teach you what is Dysgraphia and more importantly how to help your child succeed in a world where they are not seen as equal because they have been labeled. Remember when your child was a toddler wearing a towel as a cape and thought they could fly through the skies and defeat any giant? Then they get around other children and even adults who send them crying into your arms because they are not normal in other peoples eyes. Labeling hurts!

There will be up to date ideas and old fashioned ideas as well. It will be accomplished. I had three sons with Dysgraphia. I will show you how we overcame and how productive they are in society now. You will reach the stage I have reached three times now when you drop to your knees and cry. I prayed for this moment but truly did not know it would ever happen. It is almost like in the blink of an eye they got it.

Dyslexia Toolbox Sherry Sells
Learn how to fill your Dyslexia Toolbox without breaking the bank. I understand spending good money for curriculum but because you learn differently is not a reason to cost so much more. It is like us paying $7.00 for a salad but an unhealthy burger is $1.00.

You will also learn how to teach your child in a positive manner for both of you. Remember they will eventually overcome. Truth your child does not outgrow dyslexia, but as stated above it is a learning style. You can teach them how to succeed in the world. My last dyslexic child start dual credit this fall. He has grown by leaps and bounds and I struggle now to even see the Dyslexia. Praise God you will get there! I cried, I prayed and I changed my methods until I found the one that worked for them. I have had three dyslexic sons and all three had a different style of learning. It was a matter of figuring it out.
